This is one of the best pizza places I have eaten at since I moved to TN. The pizza is great tasting the crust is good along with the sauce. Since I ate here I don't like going to any place else.

It's tha za!!

I'm from Chicago, land of foodies but we didn't have an Angelo's. The building is very unassuming but it's what's inside that counts, the freshest ingredients and great recipes. Best in middle TN

Awesome Pizza!

My wife has been talking about this place forever. It is down the road from her work and they eat there often. I have been thinking ""what's the big deal"". She brought a pizza home tonight for dinner. Now I know what pizza is supposed to taste like. Amazing! Now I just have to try the rest of the menu. Thanks Angelo's, there goes my diet

Can't Pick a Favorite!

Someone bought my lunch from here a couple of years ago and I'm still trying to find my favorite thing out of all they have to offer. But everything is sooo good I can't pick just one. Obviously their pizza but their chicken alfredo to eggplant parmesan sub to calzones.... come on it shouldn't be this hard! The hardest thing about eating here is what to eat cause it's ALL GREAT! I work down the street and they deliver to me weekly. I don't have to ask anymore if others want to order too I just say ""Angelos"" and the orders start coming in! Great Place! You can't go wrong here!!

Best Pizza in town

They have stayed true to what made them a great Italian restaurant in the first place; homemade meatballs, freshly shredded cheese, freshly prepared dough, hand-prepared toppings, and excellent traditional Italian dishes you would have never thought could come from a pizza place. A++

Best Pizza in Middle TN

This is hands down the best pizza in Middle TN. If you want a great pizza, Angelo's is definitely the place to go. Their prices are well worth the quality of food that our friends from the NYC area ave brought to us. Being from upstate NY, I know what good pizza is, and Angelo's definitely brings the taste. Also, their calzones are top notch.

Excellent pizza!

It was my first time to try the place, and I have to say it was one of the best pizzas I have ever had on the east coast.

Never will I go back

I used to love going to Picnic Pizza but the last time I went back, it was very dirty in the resturant. I didn't mind it too much since I was getting my food to go. The service was also slow, but here's the kicker...The owner was talking to a friend of his who didn't seem to be an employee and before the guy started to leave, he must have went to the bahroom. When he came back, I saw him making a to-go box. The owner let his friend put his bare hand in the cheese container. I was absolutely morbid!! This was highly unacceptable and I will never go back. I hate it but there is no telling what else has been done.

great place to eat

I think angelo's picnic pizza is a great place to go with the family. They make the pizzas fresh and they have really good service. Since I have been eating there the family that owns the restaurant have gotten to know our family. We love their food and the people our great. You're crazy if you think otherwise.

Italian Food As Good As It Gets

I think being from NYC and of Sicilian heritage, entitles me to make an intelligent commentary on this restaurant: It is simply great. The hand kneaded dough is first rate which affects all the pizzas and sandwiches. The pastas are always cooked correctly; the veal is prime quality; and everything else on the menu is authentically Italian. Having said that, I always feel welcomed and they make every attempt to provide the best service, even when their excellent buffet is being served which is daily. Overall I have to give Angelo and Nick an A+ for effort and food quality. I have to also mention that their pricing is definitely as good as it gets in Nashville.

Misrepresentation on Price

I am from Chicago and have lived in Nashville for 8 months; so far the best pizza is Chicago Style on Nolensville Pike and DaVinci's on Hayes (near West End). I heard that Angelo's won the best of Nashville citysearch award so I went there, but first previewed their menu online. The pizza sauce tasted good and the cheese was not greasy but the crust was very blah, kind of tough and the price was $3.00 - $5.00 higher than what is on their internet menu! The lady casually said ""oh, uh, yeah, I guess he forgot to change that!"" I asked to speak to a manager as with that big of a difference I think it is a ploy and he hasn't changed it since at least TWO increases ago! I said I will take a printed menu for the future but would expect them to honor their internet price as that is in writing and they should keep up with it. They refused. I don't like doing business with bait and switch tactics so I will not be back.

Great food, Great Portions, Friendly Staff.

I found Angelo's using the Urban spoon app on my iPhone and I wasn't disappointed. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce, and my friend had an Italian sub. Both were delicious, and large enough to please any appetite. We are going to go back and try the pizza.

My Last Visit To Angelo's

I've been a faithful customer of Angelo's for the last 10 years. I'm sad to say that tonight's visit was my last. Ever since Angelo retired the food is not the same. There is a whole new kitchen crew and the quality of the food has gone downhill. The last 4 times I've been there, it's been getting worse and worse. My salad tonight was wilted and tasted like it had been soaking in oil all day. I told the waitress of my displeasure with the salad, and she didn't even offer to take it off of the bill. I informed Angelo's wife when I paying the bill and she didn't even offer to take it off of the bill.

My pizza tonight was terrible too. There were too many veggies on it and it was watery, therfore the crust was soggy. I ordered feta cheese on it and it was not even melted!!

I've given them the benefit of the doubt over my last four visits, hoping they were just having a bad night. Apparently it is not getting any better.

Goodbye Angelo!! It's as if I've lost an old friend!!!

great pizza good customer service

We have been going for pizza here for many years. Their pizza is always delicious and fresh tasting. The service is always wonderful - they make us feel as if we are family. Highly recommend this small, clean, happy sicilian pizza parlor.

General Info
Angelo’s Picnic Pizza has a long tradition of hand crafting pizzas in the old world Italian style. Angelo, and family, opened the first store in the Hickory Hollow Mall in 1976. He and his wife, Sara, opened several locations, including the current location on Murfreesboro Road (opened in 1999). They ran the operation together until his passing in January 2010. Fortunately, the couple raised their family on the art of pizza making, and his son, Nick, was able to continue the tradition. Nick and his wife, Marcella, currently run the shop, and they have a son named Angelo (after their beloved father), who is already skilled in dough making! The LaMattina family received a proclamation from the metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County Council for dedication to service, length of time opened for a family-owned business, and for the great selection of authentic Italian food.Angelo’s Picnic Pizza has a long tradition of hand crafting pizzas in the old world Italian style.
