DuBois & DuBois, P.C. also has a substantial practice in the family law area. The attorneys in the firm are experienced in divorce and separation, custody and child support matters, guardianship and conservatorship cases and adoption proceedings. In addition, our attorneys represent children in juvenile court proceedings. In divorce and separation matters, the firm strives to help the client dissolve the relationship in as amicable an atmosphere as possible. Our attorneys make a special effort to protect the children during what is often a very difficult time for them. If the client wants to attempt to save the marriage, we can refer the parties to marriage counselors and other professionals for counseling. While in law school, Kevin was a clinic attorney for the University of Tennessee Business Law Clinic, and was a law clerk at the law firms of Adams & Reese, Hodges Doughty & Carson, and Wagner Myers & Sanger. He was also an editor for Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law as well as the Baker Center Journal of Applied Public Policy.

Kevin consistently made the Dean’s List throughout college and attended the Transatlantic Summer Academy in Bonn, Germany. Following graduation, Kevin had a solo practice involving business, estate, and intellectual property law. He is a member of the Tennessee and Maury County Bar Associations.

Mr. DuBois is involved in most areas of the firm's practice, with an emphasis on real estate, commercial, creditor's rights and bankruptcy, and estate planning. He is a member of the Maury County and Tennessee Bar Associations. Since 1998, Mr. DuBois has served as City Judge for the City of Columbia. Since 2002, Mr. DuBois has also served as State Representative for the 64th House District in the Tennessee General Assembly, where he serves on the Health and Human Resources Committee and the State and Local Government Committee. In 2004, Mr. DuBois was named Legislator of the year by the Tennessee Development District Association and is a recipient of the Boy Scouts Silver Beaver Award. Mr. DuBois is also actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America, the Columbia Rotary Club, and St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
As a part of its practice, DuBois and DuBois P.C. has an established practice in the areas of estates, wills and trusts. The firm frequently assists executors and administrators in dealing with estate issues. Our attorneys have also represented individual beneficiaries of estates in ascertaining or asserting their rights and interests.
Power of Attorney
Our firm prepares a significant number of wills and assists its individual clients in estate planning. The firm has the experience and capability to handle complex estate planning issues. The firm also prepares a large number of durable powers of attorney, living wills and other similar documents in conjunction with estate planning.
The firm is involved in matters concerning trusts. Our attorneys assist individual clients develop personal trusts for children or other family members for estate tax planning, income tax planning or their personal purposes. We have also represented beneficiaries of trusts in matters relating to their interests in trusts.
