I took my wife for a nice dinner, ask for steaks and strimps, it was supposed to be jumbo strimps and the medium size strimps we're serve, and charge for jumbo, I ask the waiter why the charge, he said that' s the way, it has to be charge even though you we're serve medium size strimp, no apology, also the stake was dry, no flavor, that's the last time I'll be going back.!!!!
My wife and I eat here at least once a month. Great steaks, great drinks. The one in the North East is amazing as well
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for good food, great service and a friendly atmosphere. I have been eating at this restaurant since it opened. It is still my favorite restaurant in El Paso.
I have been eating at this restaurant for years. The food is always good and the service is excellent. You will not find a better steak in El Paso. This is the first place we go when we have guests from out of town. I highly recommend this restaurant.
They always make you feel at home!!!!!!!!
This is El Paso's Best Kept Secret! I would go there for any special occasion. Mothers Day is always special! I never mind the long wait for special occasions, especially for what you get! It is always worth it!! Yvonne
I have traveled the country and abroad, I have discovered and never had a steak as great as The Great American Land and Cattle Co. They are the most delicious you'll ever, ever have, every bite just seems to melt in your mouth. The spices they use explode in your taste buds and their Cole slaw is to die for. Whether dinning with family or friends we are always pleased and happy! On a date? I always ask to go there to not only enjoy great food but the excellent service that I feel I deserve, I receive...Not to mention the romantic and relaxing scenic view!! Make sure to make reservation though as I found out very popular place and you do not want to wait or be turned away.
Drove a half hour to go to this place because of the hype. Appetizers were average and not that good. When steak arrived (10 oz strip), it was a lousy cut and totally overcooked. Sides, particularly the beans, were mediocre at best. For a steakhouse that prides itself on quality, no excuse. Overcooking a steak is the ultimate travesty, and the waitress didn't even stick around initially to see if the steaks were prepared properly. Coming back 10-15 minutes later to check on things is pointless, since people will eat because they are hungry. The steaks are also supposed to be AGED, but mine didn't appear to be nor did it taste like it was. You don't want your steak to be cut fresh like sushi. I recently had the same cut of steak at the Outback and it was better. Prices are less expensive then Outback but the quality is the same. Next time I will drive down the street instead of a half hour to this place. Too bad, because it's a nice place to visit until you start eating.
Edit: I meant 16 ounces. It does take a HALF HOUR to get out to you place!! I came from Santa Teresa in NM. It was your restaurant on Trans Mountain. Why do you talk to your customers as if they are stupid???
It sounds like you went to Cattleman's in Fabens. It doesnt take an hour to get here from anywhere in the city. We aslo dont have a 10oz. NY strip ours is a 1lb. We do age our steaks and use our own seasoning. I am hoping that you did go to Cattleman's.
Horrible customer service! My family went to celebrate Mother's Day at Great American (on Alabama). Since we didn't have reservations greeter said it'd be a long time to be seated. After an hour wait and still pretty empty parking lot he informed us that it'd probably be another 1.5 hr before we were seated. Complete operational incompetence and poor customer service (shooing us out) left us shocked at how this restaurant has survived at all. At the very least one expects enough respect that greeter would say, "were only seating those with a reservation today," as he thinks "I'm racist and don't think you'll get any whiter if I wait another 2 hours."
Yes, I too had overseasoned steak there before, but guess what - I told the waiter and got a new one, no problem. The service for us has always been really good, it's a quiet place, great for intimate setting. We always go for Birthdays and our anniversaries and we'll keep going for as long as I can foresee. We've been never been turned away but reservations are recommended.
Overly salty top sirloin, overcooked vegetables (at $6 per serving), borracho beans and coleslaw, and a baked potato (w/ butter) for $53. If you care about fine dinning (or money) don’t go here!
I have ate there once and that was enough, food dry Barbecue sauce the worst I have ever had in my life. Iwould never ever go there again.
I never heard of this place before but It was delicious and well worth the money. I would recommend this restaurant for all meat eaters.
