Garcias Mexican Restaurant

Garcia's offers authentic, traditional Mexican food with some delicious twists. As a vegetarian, I love this restaurant because typically when I order Veggie fajitas I receive mushrooms, green peppers and onion. At Garcia's, I get all of those veggies, plus yellow squash, carrots & zucchini!
Not only do they have great food, they really help our football team out each fall. They help us feed the team. Love Garcia's

Provided by CitysearchGarcia's is by far the very best Mexican food I have ever had!
The food is made fresh every morning by the owner. The salsa is to die for...and the margaritas hit the spot every time!
We love the friendly, efficient service and the family friendly atmosphere!
You haven't had Mexican until you have had Garcia's!
Best Mexican Food in NASHVILLE! I eat here regularly with friends and family. Indoor/outdoor seating. Family run. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Give it a try, you will not find better Mexican food in middle Tennessee. I also recommend the "Taco Loco" and "Casa Blanco". Excellent strong margaritas, too.

Provided by CitysearchWe are a family of four, and just ate at Garcia's again tonight (5.24.10). It is to die for. The food is more expensive than the average Mexican restaurant due to better quality. We love Pancho's Mex. Restaurant just like everybody around here does...but more for their prices and volume of food. However, Garcia's is our treat restaurant. Their salsa isn't overly salty like most, but mild and flavorful. People who say otherwise must only enjoy food for the punch of spice and salt. We respect flavor and savory dishes too. I love spicy food myself, but I am tired of over salted, peppery, cover ups that try to make up for a lack of quality ingredients. Yes, it is a bit loud due to hard surface flooring. The service is wonderful, the decor is down to earth nice Mexican style, the food is so much better than all of the rest that we consider it the Outback of Mexican restaurants. You should go for the food, and expect to pay a bit more for quality. You have to try their flaming cheese dip and you'll be hooked for life. I've never tasted anything like it. We've never had any dish that wasn't absolutely delicious.
Garcias is a great place to eat anytime. Lunch hour has lunch size portions, which is perfect in quanity and price. Dinner is great for casual dining with the kids or great a great place to take your date. The food is better than any mexican restaurant around. Service, food, & atmostphere is the best. It's the only place I eat mexican since they opened.

Provided by CitysearchLove fish tacos? Don't walk, run to Garcia's in Franklin! None other can compare. Located next to Hobby Lobby in Williamson Square, Garcia's gets our family's vote for the best Mexican restaurant in and around Nashville. Their food is always fresh, the service always friendly and the portions always generous. We frequently take out-of-town guests there and they always ask to go back whenever they're in town again; it's that good! Also, in all of the years our family has patronized Garcia's, we've never seen live music, so I think the person with the not-so-great review was at a different establishment.

Provided by CitysearchI am from California, where there is good Mexican food, and I have tried just about every Mexican restaurant out here. I have to say that Garcia's is the BEST! I have stopped trying other places because I am always sadly disappointed. I will say that the first time I went there I was disappointed in the service, but I gave them a second chance and they won me over. The fajitas are great, the enchiladas are great, the chips and salsa is the best around. Don't let those negative people sway you. They must be nuts because this is the best around, or perhaps they are just a native to Tennessee and don?t know what good Mexican food is. Cozymels! HA! That is generic.

Provided by CitysearchGarcia's is the best! I have been a regular on Fridays for the last 3-4 years with my husband and I have nothing but great things to say about their food and service. Food is delicious and always fresh. They have a variety of dishes, but my personal favorites are the fish tacos, fajitas,, shimp Valarta and their home made soups. The salsa is great! Don't be fooled by the negative comments, you have to try it yourself. Now, if you want bland microwabable food, I do suggest that you visit the restaurants mentioned in the comment before this one.
This is a small restaurant, and it is busy most of the time. I do have to say that it is totally worth the wait.

Provided by CitysearchI work in Franklin, so I eat out quite a bit for lunch. Garcia's is not my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Franklin/Cool Springs area. Overpriced and limited lunch menu. Fish tacos are my favorite item, but entirely too expensive. Much better food at Mexicali Grill or Cozymel's. The chips taste like they came out of a bag ... they don't seem fresh and are not light and crispy. Salsa is ok, could be spicier. Cheese dip is good, but again, could use more jalapeno. Service is not very fast. If you're in Nashville, La Paz in Green Hills is a much better Mexican choice or La Hacienda located on Nolensville Pike.

Provided by CitysearchWe moved here after living in New Mexico for seven years and Dallas for 7. We tried out all of the ""Mom and Pop"" places in town. None of them left an impression that said, ""Gotta go back!"" except Garcia's shrimp quesadillas and fish tacos. Their salsa and queso are definitely better than the others. The service is friendly and fast. The margaritas are tasty, too!! They have recently added some outside decor that really helps combat the ugly strip mall.
Get there early because they do fill up quickly!! Enjoy!

Provided by CitysearchI've lived in the Nashville area for nearly 20 years and Garcia's is BY FAR the best Mexican food in the city. Don't let the ""tin foil review"" disuade you from giving it a try. You WON'T be sorry!

Provided by CitysearchI visited Garcia's for the first time last month. My friends highly recommended this restaurant to me but I had not had the chance to go before. I was VERY IMPRESSED WITH FOOD, and the friendly staff! I decided to try their Shrimp Fajitas and boy were they delicious!! I also had some flaming appetizer that you eat with tortillas and it was also great.
I highly recommend this place to all. The prices are reasonable and the portions and flavors are awesome.
In speaking to the owner;I found that it is family owned and they take pride and delivering good food and service. I will be back!!

Provided by CitysearchLet me preface this by saying, I hate doling out my information to join a user forum. Feel free to consider this hypocritical as I often utilize this particular site's reviews. Official business:
This evening I visited Garcia's Restaurant on the recommendation of several co-workers. Immediately, I was struck by the awful cover music sung by a male/female lounge duo. My wife and I sit down for a nice meal, order drinks and a cup of cheese dip. We tear into the chips, salsa and cheese dip with vigor as our stomachs were empty. Both were mediocre. The waiter takes our order of crab cakes and a chile relleno de pollo. He leaves and immediately returns with another waiter who asks, ""?You order two crab cakes and two chile relleno de pollo?"" I was confused by the question and said we had just one order of each.
Here is the kicker. We receive our food, begin to eat and I am struck with the overwhelming feeling of chewing aluminum foil. Dear reader, those of you who have chewed aluminum foil know the horrors it brings.
My wife calls the waiter over to the table, I send the plate back and ask for the check. The bill was the final straw. We were charged for two orders of crab cakes and the chile relleno de aluminum foil. The restaurant manager was fair about the bill (though an ""on the house"" was warranted) but added insult to injury by asking my wife, clad in a skull cap, if she had cancer.
Needless to say, I will not return to Garcia's. I can chew aluminum foil at home. Aye yie yie!

Provided by CitysearchComing from California, I have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant since I moved to TN. While it's not exactly what I remember, it's definitely pretty close. The food is excellent, the staff is very nice, and the atmosphere is great. It is a little small though and extremely crowded, so go early or expect about a 30 min wait. Also, try the Queso Fondu Dip they have, it's really good, or the Poblano Pasta if your up for a little Avocado and Spicy mixture!

Provided by CitysearchYou would never gess that this unimposing restaurant would hide such a wonderful menu of mexican food. As the owner told me on his visit to our table it is family owned and everything is fresh. The fajitas with stake chicken shrimp and pork was the best. It said that it was for two but can feed three. Also the bananna barreto was very good but needs more chocolate.

Provided by CitysearchIt's in an ugly strip mall, but don't turn away. Tis is not your run-of-the-mill Mexican place with the same menu everyone else has. Fresh seafood, excellent sauces, good steaks, and a nice gourmet touch makes this well worth the drive to Franklin. Very surprising.

Provided by CitysearchI absolutely love Garcia's salsa. It has the freshest taste! All of the menu items are delicious.....especially the soups. Garcia's stands out from the normal crowd of mexican restaurants. Try the chicken fajitas. They're always a favorite!

Provided by CitysearchGarcias is a fantastic restaurant. We frequent there for the best flaming fondito in town. Their strawberry margaritas are some of the best as well. The atmosphere is quaint and family oriented. The service is very friendly and the prices can't be beat!
