Decent food, good service, nasty environment

I have heard several people rave at the food at this particular CdM location, and we had a BOGO coupon, so we gave it a shot. The food was good, if quite a bit greasy (my son's taco looked more like taco soup), the service was adequate, and all was well.

Until I visited the ladies' room before I left. Disgusting is the only word I had for it. Both toilets were stopped up to the seat. I gagged and tried not to lose the dinner I had just paid for. I spoke to the hostess on the way out and she smiled and said ""we'll take care of it."" Well, good, but it was too late for us.

We won't be back. Palmas Verdes, here I come, the next time I want Mexican. Which may not be for awhile... just thinking about CdM makes me want to gag again.

Good!

Simply put..... Probably not the best in town but well worth it! I love fajita's and their's are pretty solid! I've been there probably over 50 times and I can't think of a single bad experience...

Best Mexican Food ever!

My family and I like to eat out and there is usually a debate about the choices since we have every concept known to man within a mile of our house. My wife is very picky, as is my son, but whenever she suggests Cinco there is no debate. The chips with that incredible salsa they serve are awesome. Then the food...OMG.. the food. I have never had a meal that we can find the least bit of fault with. I usually get the Fajitas Texanas, which is shrimp, chicken and steak with a ton of veggies and plenty of lettuce and guacamole and sour cream. I also get the mexican chili which is of this world. My wife loves the quesidillas and the chimis, and my also picky son eats the tacos like he is kobiashi at the hot dog contest. I would write more but I hear a sizzling plate of fajitas calling me now.

Best Mexican Food!!

I have been to Cinco over and over again! I love their food! Their salsa is great, their food is great! I have tried venturing out to other Mexican restaurants and I have yet to find one that has topped this place! I love, love, love it!

Great Food, Great Prices, Service Could Be Better!!

They need more supervision of their employees and less playing around. A professional attitude towards their customers would help to make this one of the finest restaurants in town, until then the will just be a good mexican restaurant!!

Great Margaritas

First time visit on a Friday night. Lots of parking if you have a 4x4. Chips were a bit stale but all in all the food was tasty and what you would expect of Tex-Mex. Service was friendly and accomodating for our large party of 17 people.

Check your bill in this place

I Use to go to this resturant often, i will NEVER go in there again, these people rip off the folks in the bar area, They will give you a bill, but not itemized, always ask for itemized bill they like to tack things on you didn't have, they overcharge when they think folks have had to much to drink and won't know. I have seen this happen to MANY people, i have seen so many people argue in the bar over there bill its rediculous. Food is great, from prior reviews i don't think they ever insinuated they were ""Tex Mex"" its good food and great margarita's, just watch things in the bar area. I can't stand a theif

Great mexican!

This place is great--however the same owners have a place in Mt. Juliet that isn't as good. Don't know why!

FABULOUS!!!

The food is great, the service can be slow a bit but that's only because half of the state of TN is at this place! The Margaritas are the best in Nashville so don't pass up an opportunity to try one!

If you don't like like this food there's something wrong w/you.

If you get upset at the occassional slow service b/c the place is hoppin' then stay home!

These guys are the best!!

Worst of all Mexican Restaurants

I have had Mexican food in many states at different prices ranges and this was the worst. Do people in Nashville know what real Mexican/Tex-Mex is supposed to taste like? I went for the first time with my family who were visiting from out of town. We are used to much better Mexican food, so I was very embarrassed. The service was bad. The waiter got one of our orders wrong, so one of my guests was not able to eat with the group. The restaurant seemed really cramped. The fajitas had very little flavor and you can get better tasting meat at Taco Bell. I had a combination dish and I didn't like anything on my plate. My guests didn't either. The food sucked! Don't waste your time and money here.

BEST DAMN MEXICAN FOOD IN NASHVILLE... PERIOD!!!

Cinco de Mayo was recommended to me by several co-workers so I took my family for dinner over the holidays. This place is BUSY FOR A REASON! There was a small line but they still managed to seat me in seconds, not minutes. We then got HOT CHIPS and salsa as we were sitting down. Our server was there quick, he smiled, answered our questions about the menu, and quickly made us feel like ""amigos."" I began noticing the little things that make this place special... little things like the perfectly colored and cut lime on my margarita. Their regular margarita is made with nice and smooth Sauza, not some cheap blended tequila. Its crazy, but I look for these things. So while I am enjoying my drink, we get more chips and the kids get refills without having to ask. They have this cheese dip that is magical, if they were to can this stuff and market it nationwide they would make a killing. At this point I am already completely thrilled with everything and dinner has not even shown up yet. I see servers hustling and tables being cleaned with the speed of a NASCAR pit crew. As expected our meal showed up lightning fast and hot. My fajitas were sizzling, everything was done just right, they even got my picky wife's order exactly right. I ordered the mixed fajitas with beef, chicken, and shrimp...they do something special to the meat that makes it tender and juicy, must be a special marinade. I have been to lots of other Mexican restaurants around town and the meat is usually chewy and bland... not here, Cinco's taste like I marinaded at home myself and grilled it in back yard. The rice is great, the beans are great, everything is great. My wife got the fajita quesadillas, I stole a bite, and yes... they are damn good too. We had fun, we have gone back several times, you quickly start to recongnize the regulars, now I am one. The bar is a great place to watch the game, nice TV setup, cold Dos Equis in a frosty mug. BEST MEXICAN FOOD AND STAFF IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE.

Worst TexMex restaurant in the area

We ate there for lunch after reading all the reviews here at this site. The food was horrible! I sent the fajitas back to be cooked again. It wasn't crowded and yet our server -and all servers- were either not to be seen or running by the tables so fast that it was impossible to ask for more drink or salsa. Many times the staff was talking to loudly in the back or at the bar to the point we couldn't talk to each other. Many times our waiter didn't follow through with our request or he would come back and ask us to repeat ourselves. Huge disappointment. I don't think half the staff could even understand our requests. :

THE BEST MEX IN TENNESSEE

MY FAMILY VISITED ME FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, ABOUT 20 OF US. TOOK THEM TO CINCO HERMITAGE AND HAD THE BEST MEAL OF OUR HOLIDAY. WE THEN DECIDED TO GO TO MT. JULIET CINCO A COUPLE DAYS LATER AND TO MY SURPRISE IT WAS EVEN BETTER. THE FAJITAS WERE EXCELLENT, CHIMICHANGAS, QUESDILLAS HAD THE BEST TASTING BEEF AND CHICKEN I HAD EVER TASTED. THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY, IT WAS ALSO MY MOM'S B-DAY AND THEY ALL SANG TO HER INCLUDING THE MANAGERS. P. S. THE CHEESE DIP IS THE BEST, THEY MAKE IT SO CREAMY WITH PERFECT SPICES!!!
