I bought to two items from thi...

I bought to two items from this store. One was broken and the other is what I later found out to be a cheap knock off. I let the first one slide, but asked for a refund on the knock off item. The employee was rude and defensive. This store has a strict no refund policy. Buyer beware.




AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Staff was very friendly and helpful! The store was clean. When I walked in an employee was sweeping the rugs and held the door for me, as I walked through the store each and every employee asked how I was doing and if I needed any help. They were out of the item I was looking for but took my number and said when one came in they would be happy to give me a call! I frequent local pawnshops looking for deals and this is the first time I have been there but it will for sure not the be last!!!

I'm glad I read the customer reviews before darkening the door of "Valu Plus Pawn #1". Thank you, Live2Rock and LizHConsumer1, for bringing to light the seedier side of this business. You should also make a report with the Better Business Bureau. It sounds like the business' name is a misnomer. I was trying to find the business hours for the place so I could pawn my guitar. A hospital stay knocked me out of work, so I need gas money to get back to work; but after reading the reviews of this shop, I think I'll go somewhere else. Goodness knows what kind of condition my guitar would be in when I redeemed it next week. With such reviews, I wonder if I would get back the same guitar that I pawned. I have too much money invested in the guitar to trust it to the likes of Valu Plus Pawn. It's like the old saying goes: If you want to know what a business is really like, ask the customers. Thanks again for the heads up!

BEWARE ! Jerks. Thieves and Liars !

The manager is a jerk... and in my opinion a thief ! ! I bought a $200 LED light and was told (within the hour) they would take it back. When I went back to the store the salesman told me I would get back $30 LESS because he would need to be paid commission on the item I was trading for also... the manager agreed. I feel this is theft because the item was returned unopened. I expressed this was enethical, and the manager (wearing a pistol) told me "I am getting pissed " ....obviously little weenie- big gun syndrome. It was closing time and the money was in the register and I could hit the door. Police report was made..Charge disputed!‎ This is a local store so I have shopped often in the past but will not return... This store is well known for selling defective merchandise and I have witnessed items returned to the floor that were checked out and not working properly ... It's the way they do business ! Occasionally a deal can be had ... BUT BEWARE ! The manager is not an honest person in my opinion ! Do not expect any customer service once they take the money.



Purchased Item

I purchased an XBox system from them through their layaway plan. The system did not work. I brought the system back to the store within one hour of pick up and they refused to give me my money back. The Sales Clerk and the Manager were defensive, rude and interrupted continuously when I was trying to make a point. I did get very angry and then the Manager said, "He was trying to be nice and that could change if I wanted to go there". Trust me I wasn't afraid to "go there". I don't like to get cheated and especially don't like to be treated badly. If the system didn't work, why was it being sold as "working"? I paid in total $289.00 and in the end they bought it back from me for $150.00, I lost $130.00 in one hour. I mean, literally one hour from the time I picked the unit up. In this economic climate, I think customer service can make the difference in where people shop. Clearly no one has related that to Value Plus.
