It operates a facility that provides law enforcement and emergency medical services. The agency maintains the emergency call system of Knox County in Tennessee. The Knox County Emergency Communications District has received the Tri-Arc Award from the Commission for Accreditation of Law enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
