Poole Knobs Campground

Awesome park. Well maintained and extremely clean. Current hosts are friendly and helpful. They called to make sure we were ok when we didn't arrive on the first day of our reservation due to mechanical problems. The site we were in, 56, was just perfect. Little path down to the lake where we took our chairs and watched the lake go by. Even when full on the weekend it was very disciplined. Most of the noise stopped by 10 pm or so. Now, the helicopters, on the other hand, were annoying all day when they were landing/taking off in our direction. The scenery more than made up for it. Boat rental close if you don't have your own. Fish right from the shore by camp too. Some people had their boats pulled up right by their campsite.

Host was very unfriendly on the phone. Then from the time I got to the gate, I got the impression the hosts thought the campground belonged to them alone.
