Macuil Tire and Service Center
Horrible experience! Went to MaCuil's to get my car repaired and now my car is worst than when I took it in. I took my car back to get the problem fixed and they wanted to do another diagnostic on the problem they fixed and charge me another $85 which would not come off the price of repairs. Needless to say I am looking for a new mechanic.
The arch st. Location needs to be shut down. The mechanics don't do the work they are payed for. drained oil out of my car and didn't replace it.
TERRIBLE!!! They bent my bumper! On a simple tire patch which they charged 20$ for. And they are trying to avoid responsibility, and don't want to fix it
After spending over $1,000.00 in repairs at the Arch Street location within the last month, I can't believe they charged me $20.00 to plug a leaking tire... That's not my definition of Customer Loyalty!!!!
This was at the Arch street location. I just witnessed a service writer (I think.. greying hair, slender, mustache, glasses) do a burnout in a customer car around the entire back side of the building, then pull in to the first service bay. The car was a newer silver corvette convertible with handicapped tags. If you don't believe it, go check out the pavement behind the building.. this is obviously a habit of theirs. I would NEVER take my car to such a place.
On Monday, January 4, 2016, I took my 2000 Mercury Sable to Macuil’s Tire Center on 1201 S. University to have the thermostat replaced. The original estimate was $81 before tax with $13 for the part and $68 for the labor. They estimated it would take an hour to complete. After an hour of them working on the vehicle, the mechanic said there was a problem with one of the bolts and that it had to be repaired. This he said would cost extra and take an additional thirty minutes. This thirty minutes turned into 3 hours. When the vehicle was finally ready after a total of four hours, the price for labor had doubled and I was charged an additional $68 bring the total to $149 before tax. As you can see, the amount of time and money they originally quoted me was excessively exaggerated.
Later that week, my father took the car to a different auto shop in Fort Smith. While they were replacing my heater core, they noticed that an incorrect size bolt and leaking where my thermostat was. I can obtain this in writing as well; however, even with Macuil’s Tire Center taking four hours to complete their work, they still do not do the job properly.
The location on Arch Street is also wonderful! Stands by warranty work. Pleasant and honest.
