Great diner with an authentic '70s feel to it. Attracts a seriously hipster crowd at breakfast time and late at night, but it's otherwise a mellow place to grab a meal. Standard "diner" fare and great juke box. It's part of a hotel, but there's free self-parking behind the building.
Awesome low-key diner with really good food. I love sitting at the counter for weekend breakfasts. Great people watching!
Although I've had a few bad experiences here I'm still a big fan. I think it all depends on the staff and the shift (which would normally be a huge problem for most restaurants and would lead me to leave very nasty reviews)... but the convenience and atmosphere of this place just wins me over each time.
And i love their breakfast burritos!!!!
note: sober dining at this location would equal less stars in this review.
The food here is always good, but I really come for the milkshakes. The black eye, the black and white, the nut 'n' honey... sooooo good and huge. They are a meal in themselves.
When I'm feeling like I want to be a little healthier, I settle for the chai latte and one of the 101's amazing salads.
The ambience of The 101 is just right - it's a casual diner where anyone can go, but you will always see people in The Biz (or wannabes with scripts) hanging around. Don't be surprised if you also bump into one of your favorite TV actors or the guitarist from the latest hot band.
I have eaten here a couple of times while on vacation. I don't consider myself a "hipster" but I think I fit in with them just fine. This is their turf. The place is dingy and dark but you forget all about the ambiance after your first bite. I suggest the salmon salad and the enormous burrito. I even spotted David Arquette there having breakfast at the bar one morning. Very cool!
