4 Street Co-Op

4 street is one of five co-ops that were formed in 1982 when cal trans project (route 2) a ramp to connect the 101frwy to 2frwy was dissolved . 4 street gets its name because it is composed of 98 unit dwellings on 22 scattered parcels within 4 st perimeter ( new hampshire ave ,berendo st, heliotrope dr.and clinton/kenmore ). incorporated in 1982 as non profit mutual & limited organization .a board of directors executes their bylaws and most of its residents own membership inerest thus have a right to know all the decisions and affairs of the corporation and have the right to vote on its affairs . one of the requests of living in 4 street coop is that income is low to moderate . the members residing are renting to own their unit but in no way profit from said unit ( members can appoint on wills or proper testaments who can inherit their unit) . composed majorily of hispanic ethnicity were everybody knows everybody and 3rd generations are growing . everyone enjoys all common ground .
