Provided by Citysearchits is really old. Located in middle of city which is nice. Service is about as old as the place, Mexican food. Nothing special. Drinks are nice, but all drinks are nice right?
The food is ok. Some waitresses are friendly, other are not. Watch the guacamole pot, we found a sticker brand in it. Showed it to the waitress and didn't even apologized about it.

Provided by CitysearchYou can't beat this restaurant. Inexpensive yet very cool atmosphere and good food. Their salsa is the best in the city and I could eat it by the gallon. Although I don't drink, my friend at 3 margarita's which they are known for. All in all, a great value for your dollar.
the food here is definitely suited for american taste. it doesnt taste bad, but its definitely not mexican. the carne plates are good but need more kick. everything just needs more kick. hey but some people are into bland food, so by all means go ahead if you like it. I/ giving 4 stars for the good service tho. better service than other "mex" restaurants.
This is a fun place for drinks and a moderately price dinner. The food has improved but it just lacks some inspiration. The meals tend to be single note and too Americanized. Nevertheless, it's a great place for big parties.

Provided by CitysearchMaybe the drinks are good. Consider this comment on the meal I had recently. It's typical LA over-pricing, but without good food. I really believe it was some kind of processed cheese that was layered over my very wimpy enchilada... Yes, one enchilada. They sell them in singles, for as much as they sell 3 (plus rice and beans) in normal mexican food joints. Want a local-scale sign the economy spiraled out of control in the last 10 years? Our restaurants are pretty weighty on the tab sometimes. Sometimes, unfortunately, with little return. Maybe I'm a penny-pincher, but it seems this restaurant, which does indeed have some decorative charm, clearly is here for the upper classes, as even in these down times, it seems to draw a crowd who will pay the price.

Provided by CitysearchEl Coyote is hot hot hot!!! I love this Mexican restaurant and I keep going back over and over again! Their frozen margaritas are fabulous and so are the tequila shots! I love the food as well and will continue to keep going back!

Provided by CitysearchI was disappointed by the tastelessness of the food, like eating a rubber shoe. the margaritas were watered down and not very strong. I'm sure that there are better places to eat than this in LA.

Provided by CitysearchI was very sick after I ate here. The tacos were cold and the tortilla chips were stale. I saw the waitress take salsa off of a table after the ppl had already left and place it on somebody else's table for consumption. Can they do that? I'm sorry that I ate here. I had diarrhea for the rest of the night. The margaritas were very acidic and didn't help my stomach and I was very hungover the next day. I will NEVER eat here again. The restroom was also very dirty.

Provided by CitysearchAlways filled with a busy and lively crowd, El Coyote provides kitch Mexican food at its best. The decor is campy and festive, with prompt and attentive service by waitresses dressed in Mexican garb. The food, which includes the usual tacos, burritos and enchiladas, isn't the actual draw to this L.A. staple, but it's their famous, and STRONG, margaritas. Bring down a group of friends on a Sunday afternoon, sit on the patio, and enjoy a really fun meal, with a margarita, or two, or three, or...

Provided by CitysearchI have been going here for 22 years. The perfect atmosphere with the perfect ""stick to your ribs"" Mexican food. The service is amazing here and many have been working here much longer than I have been going. Have a designated driver if you have more than two of their margaritas! I always take out of town guests for the perfect melting pot experience that is Hollywood.
If you came here for the food then you have been misinformed. The food is mexican style and thats about all you can say. If you think the food here is good then you have already tried one of their margaritas. This brings me to the real reason you come to El Coyote, the margaritas, more specifically the Ultimate Margarita. Priced at around $7 it tastes great and they don't skimp on the tequila! This is a great place to stop by before hitting the town. Service is about par for Hollywood and the service has been around about as long as the building itself. The restaurant is large and can handle large parties. You will drive to where ever you are going as it is not really close to anything. If you come in the evening there will be a wait. Highly recommend this place for a good time in Hollywood.

Provided by CitysearchStick to the basics, crunchy chicken tacos, margaritas, carnitas. Occasionally the tostada works too.
The staff is nice, but its all fake like the rest of the LA. The fact that the owner is a hypocrite and an ignorant bigot, I will not eat here again. The food is okay but no better than El Torito.

Provided by CitysearchIncredible service and the food was outstanding. Next time I visit LA I'm booking a hotel as close as possible. Make sure El Coyote is on your list, you won't regret it.

Provided by CitysearchNo ""AGENDA"" here, just good solid Mexican food and Margaritas. Plan on taking the office here for the food. Wait staff is excellent, courteous, and well mannered. All other bad comments about this restaurant are agenda driven, this place is just down right good. We'll be back! If you don't belive it, try it yourself and you will see that they are being casticized by others for no reason. Good food. Thanks for the hospitality!!!
