I've been going to Lena for almost 10 years and now she's gone. Does anyone know her last name or how I can get into contact w/ her? Love Shorty's.

Provided by CitysearchHi I am looking for Henry who used to work at Shorty's . Does anyone know where he went?

Provided by CitysearchWas referred to Lena by my friend Rafael. She is GREAT!!! Strongly recommend to see her for a great cut. Will refer others. Thanks, Lena. Great job!
Next time, you teach me Russian....:)
Does anyone know where Henry went? He left Shorty's fairly recently I think, he was amazing!

Provided by CitysearchI was on a search for a stylist that would listen and do what I asked. No matter who I went to, they always gave me a variation of the same cut. I wanted something new and different.
A friend suggested that I try Shorty's. I was fortunate enough to land a seat in Henry's chair. He (politely) said that I should try a more modern look. I wasn't in denial. I knew that my hair was out dated. I just couldn't seem to get anyone to do anything about it.
I gave Henry total creative freedom to do as he thought was best. I am so glad that I did. Not only did he give me a new and improved style but he explained the way my hair grows and how to style it correctly.
He is a very talented hair dresser and made sure I walked away knowing that I CAN have good hair. If you are in need of someone new then go see him!

Provided by Citysearchhenry hooked me up. finally after three years of trying to find that one guy who could cut my hair the way I wanted it. he knew exactly what i wanted and knew the tools i wanted him to use. he took the words out of my mouth. if you want an awesome razor cut go to henry, enough said.

Provided by CitysearchI got my best haircut at Shorty's. Even though all of the hairstylists seem to be doing a great job, in my personal opinion, Henry is the best. He did exactly what I wanted and also made a few suggestions which I really liked. When he was done cutting my hair, I realized it was the best haircut I've ever had. Henry took his time working on my hair, really paying attention to detail. Didn't miss a spot. Ever since I've been coming back to Shorty's.

Provided by CitysearchGot a great cut about 1 year ago - since then, i have been back 4 or 5 times, and i eventually learned my lesson.
all bad cuts after ONE good one. the stylists here are not very good, a few told me they only cut hair to earn some extra money, so these are not professionals, but hobbyists.
last cut made me so mad (the guy made a NEW hair line on the back of my neck when i TOLD HIM cut it to look natural, and it took 3 weeks to look normal again) - i wanted to and should have asked to see his credentials.

Provided by CitysearchI got a great hair cut at Shortys from Gilbert. I'm generally not very good at describing how I want my haircut, and Gilbert had never cut my hair before, so I was a little unsure of how this was gonna go- he seemed to understand what I was looking for (even with my minimal directions/instructions) and gave me a cut that was just right for me. I was pleasantly surprised and will definately be back.

Provided by CitysearchI've been getting great haircuts from Gilbert for a while now. This week two people asked me who cut my hair (in a positive way!) I think that's pretty cool, right? Time to write a review!
So...You can make an appointment with him- he's always been right on time for me- haircut takes about 30 minutes- cost: $30 bucks- obviously solid work and he brings the good, chill, energy.
There you have it. Works for me. I can definately recommend checking him out.

Provided by CitysearchI've lived in LA for just over a year and I've yet to find a good spot to get a haircut. I finally went to Shorty's and got a great haircut from a great stylist. The atmosphere is very cool and coming to Shorty's is more of an experience rather than just getting a haircut.

Provided by CitysearchI've seen some people post on here that they have no idea how this place could get so many good reviews.
I have mixed reviews myself, but it really depends on who cuts your hair.
There are two heavy-set girls that work at Shorty's. I don't know what their names are, but one can only be described as looking like Mimi from the Drew Carey Show (way too much makeup, and yes, I know I'm now going to hell for that comment!).
I have had the unfortunate luck to have had my haircut by ""Mimi"". She cuts hair faster than anyone in the place, and I understand now how she does it. It was the worst butcher cut I've ever had in my life. Before I found Dimas and Elvis, I would refuse to have my haircut by her, and actually walked out and acted like I had an urgent call when I found out I was next on the list and she called for me.
Then I found Dimas. He's really good, super funny, an all-around good guy. I ask for him every time now, and will leave if he's not working (because I don't ever want to get stuck with Mimi again).
I've also had Elvis cut my hair a few times, and although he cut it a bit shorter than I wanted once, it always looked good.

Provided by CitysearchMy barber at Shortys (calming Gilbert) has saved me from myself, and my misguided ideas of what my hair should be doing…. or is it more like what my hair shouldn’t be doing? In any case I was a lost soul that had never quite been the master of my own hairstyle. Gilbert just broke it down for me in a real simple manner, never making it more complicated than it needed to be. As he said- “don’t over think it”. He gave me a clean, classic haircut that has a few different easy styling options. I feel like I’ve got this hair thing down now- thank you Gilbert.

Provided by CitysearchMy friend and I randomly walked in, and we were taken care of right away. Ryane listened to what we wanted and did an excellent job.
Your hair is super important and Ryane is the gal to go to! She's artistic, friendly, super cute, and you know you can trust her! She also was very complimentary to her co-worker, Trent, who I also read good reviews about.
I'm hooked! Keep up the good work!

Provided by CitysearchIf you are looking for an experienced stylist to get it right the first time, see my man Chris R. He's a class act and treats you like you need to be treated. Besides being hooked by his charming smile and winner personality, you will enjoy your time in his chair. Whether it's a high and tight or close and edgy, this Shorty's professional will do it right every time.

Provided by CitysearchI have no idea were to start. I received a hair cut from the most inexperienced person possible. While in the process of cutting my hair, she was pretty much asking how to cut it. You would think being someone who works here would know how to cut hair. If your an inexperienced hair stylist, this is the place to apply for a job. You could get a better hair cut at Super Cuts. If Shorty's really cared about their customers, they wouldn't hire someone with so little experience Don't waste your money or time at Shorty's, go to Rudy's.

Provided by CitysearchAsk for Jessica. She spent time making sure I got the right haircut, was very thorough and a nice person. I got a $50+ looking haircut for $23.

Provided by CitysearchGilbert makes my big crazy asian hair seem (as he puts it)- ""intentional"". If you have this kind of hair you know what I'm talking about- it's probably always gonna be big crazy hair, but now it looks like it's on purpose! Who knew?! Lol. Thanks Gil!

Provided by CitysearchI've gone to 3 different guys here and they're all great. My favorite guy, though, is Max. The service is quick, and the staff is personable. Most importantly, the cuts have been excellent. I used to go to an expensive stylist in Beverly Hills, but Shorty's is so convenient and so much less for the same quality. They take cash or credit, unlike other shops nearby, and I always leave feeling like I got a really good-looking cut.
