I needed some help in my Divorce and i could not have gotten a better lawyer for my case than the lawyers @ Abbott & Abbott. BJ and his paralegals were on top of everything for my case and only contacting/charging me when it was necessary. I know they did work and spent hours on my case that i was not charged for. He was truly a blessing to me when i needed it the most.

Abbott & Abbott are criminals. I lost custody of my daughter in what couldn't have been a simpler case - for an attorney who actually works. I scraped together the $6,000 retainer. BJ was never in, never working on my case.

His wife, Parri, should also be disbarred and their entire incompetent and vile office staff unemployed. One dropped ball after another, an ever-revolving door of office members, a carnival of a law office.

Abbott & Abbott attempted to withdraw from my case just a few days before mediation. I had to contact the judge with this unethical mess; they were made to attend. Parri was useless and couldn't have represented me less than if she was the appointed counsel for my ex-husband. They ended up withdrawing before my final court hearing and I was forced to attend for myself, by myself.

Horrible human beings, worthless attorneys, and the reason I've lost my daughter. Steer far, far away from Abbott & Abbott.

I'm being forced to give them one star in order to post a review but they don't deserve it. Worst experience ever. They promise so much in order to get you to sign the contract and give them a big fat retainer. After I payed a retainer they asked who was representing my husband and when they found out they both starting laughing. I asked why and they told me they were very close friends. I asked if this would be a conflict of interest and they said no. Of course it was! Once we went to mediation, they did nothing! Everything they had promised they never even brought it up. 2 years later they asked me to give them another retainer in order to keep representing me. I told them I couldn't afford them and I was ok not being represented by them. They kept sending me invoices for things that never happened. This happened 3 more times. I requested to get my file back and it took a couple of months because they couldn't find it. You won't receive the legal representation you need with them.

going through a divorce is tough on anyone,BJ Abbott was referred by another lawyer that thought she couldn't handle the details of this divorce. met with BJ, excellent first impression, thought he was the man for the job. gave a 7500. retainer. received emails from the paralegal with income, assets, things like that. she quits firm, another person asks for the same stuff and recharges me..she told me she couldn't get into her email account.
during this time I was asked to be the legal guardian of new g'friends kids (3) in case something happened to her, was send 3 standard forms with names and bdays wrong charged 2200 and I had to file....this was not even close to the amount of paperwork involved, so decided to wait till a later time.
wifes lawyer filed for temp cust and support, was given a date to be there in court, BJ told me that he filed leave with the court and for me not to attend court. wife called me the day before and said court is still on and my lawyer did not file the correct leave dates. I immediately called BJ and he assured me that he filed the correct dates, I told him ."maybe I should show up just in case" he said not to go to court.
COURT DAY, the order came in.
BJ calls me into his office, apologizes for a screw-up and blames the court, I remind him of the day before and what my wife's attorney said, he says he will get the order vacated immediately,he tells me he will finish the case at no additional charge...yes he did say "NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE" so I'm thinking maybe a partial refund.
the next day I am at home and a squad car pulls up and demands that my children go from their home to hers or he was going to put them in juvenile detention, the order also says for me to give 9000 a month for support and pay all her attorney fees, I was not to see my kids for at least 2 weeks. The court would not vacate or change anything for me ,but did for her. the next month a new court date, my wife's lawyers are waiting as BJ shows up into court, the judge tells us to work out something, my wife with her lawyers get into a conference room and start talking, but stay pretty firm about the whole thing because BJ didn't show up to first court and didnt know that they had bank statements from my business accounts, so I didn't come prepared with expenses and payroll, taxes and equipment receipts. they talked most of the day with BJ coming out to me with a note with their demands. I finally convinced him to get me into the room so I can justifie my income, I spent the next hour bringing the 9000 down to 1000 a month, BJ did no talking, I was very impressed by my wife' attorneys, they were "pitbulls" BJ was a "note passer"he asks the two "pitbulls" what their rate was, they tell him and he BRAGS that he bills more then the two of them....I am wishing I picked these lawyers.
the next month a statement arrives that reads please remit 10,000 to continue divorce case!!!!! I call BJ and he says "yes, that is probably the amount that will be required to finish" I REMIND him of the promise he told me when he screwed up this and he says" well, you didn't give me an answer" and he was not going to honor that anymore. says if you do not send it we will drop out of case. he drops out the next week. where did my 7500 go? I spent about 1 hour talking to BJ. my wife spent days talking with her attorneys, my paperwork was incomplete, her's were impeccable. my lawyer was quiet and aloof, hers were sharp and confident. its been almost a year since he missed that court date, we are no further that the day he fired me because he thought he deserved more of my money,I think I am going to go to the BAR association and make a complaint...probably will not do any good.

Abbott & Abbott represented my husband in our divorce, charged him for an order I had already handled.In February I wrote a review on Abbott & Abbott. End of story?Nope.. May, I received a letter from an Attorney that BJ Abbott & Pari Abbott hired. A "notice of claim". Yep - Seriously. The letter stated he never represented my husband and he wanted to claim damages against me.
Next I called my ex-husband & read the letter.Wow, we were shocked that Abbott didn't remember OR more importantly sent me that letter without REALLY checking.I understand a firm not having old files BUT do your homework before sending a letter (you'd think that's common sense). Do they always make mistakes this big? The letter stated they looked at (stalked) my Facebook page. Why? Do they do that with every review they get? Here's what I say about that ..YIKES. I realized I needed to respond & prepared a simple letter. If this doesn't scare you about them - hire them and good luck you will need it.

Abbott and Abbott were the best choice for my divorce. I recommend them very highly! Bj and Parri walked me through everything during my case as well as continuing to help me long after my case concluded. I got custody of my three children and have contacted them numerous times concerning other issues that have come about. The never hesitate to help or give me advice. Let me be very clear... they are not miracle workers but they are very talented and intelligent. They will definitely help any way that they can.!! Highly recommended.

Fantastic husband and wife team who really do care. While their fees can be expensive, they were always available--even on a holiday weekend.
