Dave Poe's BBQ

Mac and cheese is baked and piping hot fresh out of the oven. Collard greens like granny used to make. BBQ will melt in your mouth!

It has been said that BBQ in the South is like wine in France; every hundred miles you travel you get a different variety. What makes Dave Poe's so good is that they have combined the best of the BBQ art. The pulled pork comes in a nicely smoked flavor that is not too overwhelming and strong but gives the hint of the wood that where it is smoked. The flavor is absolutely "smack dab" Southern and the ribs are meaty without having a great deal of fat.

The sauce comes on the side (the way good BBQ) should be so that it doesn't cover up the flavor of the meat. It is a sweet but biting as it hits the back of your palate and adds to the meat rather than overwhelming it. This is a place that takes me back to the BBQ's of my childhood and of people who knew how to master the art of the slow cooked and smoked hog (the only real BBQ meat). I am constantly going back to Dave Poe's and invite the ardent BBQ devotee and the novice to give it a try. You wouldn't be disappointed.

This used to be sam and dave's bbq,now it is Dave Poe,just when you think it was great it is even better! They have always had good food, but now it is less greasy and just a little touch better! Thanks Dave! I have eaten there three times this week! The portions are big ,the meat so tender with no fat and the mac and cheese is great.It is super clean!!The service is always fast and super nice.
