Provided by Citysearchthe place is usually pretty busy, and as a result, the staff may not always be on their best game (they're usually very good) but all of that is forgotten as soon as i eat the food. delicious. I dont claim to be a steak expert, but my boyfriend loves steaks and as a result i've become a carnivore. Bottom Line. Great steak.
Great steaks and the flavor is spectacular

Provided by CitysearchAlthough Capital Grille remains popular, especially among those that work in downtown Miami, it is not a good value. If you are in the mood for a GREAT steak and GREAT potato sides, consider this your fourth or fifth option. Morton's, Ruths Chris, and Prime 112 surpass it in both service and quality. And since there are so many new steakhouses in Miami (which I have not yet tried), it may be possible some of these also surpass Capital Grille. -
I went here recently for the Miami Spice event. First, they forgot to bring the ""amuse"" course, which was a sorbet. I didn't even think about it until I had already left the restaurant. The appetizer salads are good, but they don't stand out. For the main course, I ordered the ancho chile rubbed sirloin steak with a chimichurri sauce. The steak was cooked exactly as I ordered and the sauce was very good. My wife ordered the lamb chops and, although good, were a little tough for her. I have eaten more tender lamb chops in other locations. -
The sides were disappointing. First, they bring you two of their most uninteresting offerings: mashed potatoes and a vegetable. The mashed potatoes are tasty, but they are nowhere near as exciting as many others that I have had. The vegetable was a broccolini, which just wasn't good at all. If you go to the grocery store and buy the frozen broccoli with sauce from various brands, and an ""instant"" mashed potato box with garlic, you will have a better experience. FYI: I tried many of the potato sides from Capital Grille during a previous visit, and all of there are mediocre. The truffle fries, for example, are good but the worst of all the truffle fries I have ordered at many other restaurants. -
Lastly, the service. Again, I am not going to say it was horrible (it was actually OK), but it is the lowest quality/friendliness of all the other steakhouses and fine dining establishments I have been to. The waiter just didn't seem that interested in serving that night.

Provided by CitysearchThe food was amazing. I love me some perfectly good red-meat. The service was top notch. The waitress went out of her way to have the bartender make my wife a new drink, a Ty-Tini thats made with Ty Ku liqueur and vodka. My wife is a pain in the sense that she has to have the latest and greatest thing. Anyways, the ambiance of the restaurant is phenomenal. Top notch joint.

Provided by CitysearchMy fiance and I decided to go to the Capital Grille this past Sunday ""just because"". He had been there twice and boasted about how the quality of the steak was unparalleled in Miami. I will start by saying that I loved the decor of the place. It was dark and created a romantic ""old-world"" atmosphere without bordering on cheesy. Right off the bat our waiter treated us as though his service was a gift to us. This of course did not surprise me because that's pretty much the service anywhere that's considered ""fine dining"" in Miami. We started off with the Caesar salad for me (very forgettable) and french onion soup for D (delicious). D and I were engaged in conversation when the waiter came and took his soup and my salad without asking. D of course was not done but did not want to be rude and just let it go. D's strip was delicious as well as my filet mignon. The meat's quality was great but in all honesty not the best I ever had. Add to that a side of snobbery and bad service and all in all it was an average dining experience. The only saving grace of the restaurant was the delicious creme brulee and once again, its old-world decor. If you're looking for great taste, romantic dining, and out of this world service, head on over to Christy's at the Gables, I can guarantee it will be a thousand times better.

Provided by CitysearchIf you eat out in Miami, please choose another restaurant. When you are paying 40$ plus for a steak, the service better be good to go along with it! I had a fruit fly in my drink and was basically told it wasn't! My husband agreed that it was a fruit fly. I am not kidding...one of the managers actually got his readers(glasses) on to inspect the drink! What kind of customer service is that. I thought the customer was always right...especially for that price! They didn't even take the drink off of our bill! Besides that, the server was unfriendly and SLOW! Also, it wasn't even a weekend night and wasn't very busy. If you are ever in Kansas City, try that Capital Grille. It is OUTSTANDING every time!

Provided by CitysearchNothing special could have eaten at Houstons and paid a lot less. Waiter was nice, he helped us select the most expensive bottle of wine. No dress code, some customers walked in with shorts, tank tops and baseball caps... not the best dinning experience.
I do not go to many steak restaurants, but this one is worth the trip
special food and very good service, nice environtmrnt to have a dinner

Provided by CitysearchOMG! If you want to ""really"" impress someone, take them here! This place truly defines delicious! The service was spectaculor. My husband took me for an anniversary lunch. Our hostess Mercy was soooo nice. She made us feel very comfortable despite the fact that we don't get out much! ( Small Kids)! We shared calamari, a salad, onion rings and of course a ribeye! I would truly be happy with that as my last meal !!! YUM, YUM

Provided by CitysearchMy father and I went to CG for lunch on a Friday afternoon. After introducing himself the waiter disappeared. I had the burger, and pops had the lobster/crabcake sandwich. I also had a bowl of French Onion soup which came out cold, you cold tell it had been sitting in the back for a while. The food was pretty good, but not better than other fine steakhouses such as Morton's and Grazianos. Also, that night my father and I both felt sick. Aside from having amazing key lime pie, I could take it or leave it.

Provided by CitysearchNot what we expected, rude staff and manager , reservations not honored; food was fair but not what it was build up to be. Would not go back for the price.

Provided by CitysearchWhen one savors the true taste of what a dry-aged, tender, well-seasoned, succulent piece of steak is like, only the privileged can validate to have placed their taste buds to the test to what The Capital Grille can provide. This had to have been the greatest time I have ever had in a restaurant next to ""The Royal Treatment"" I experienced at Baleen. The 24-oz. Signature Porterhouse was so profound and amazing, that after about a month, I could still savor the taste of it in my mouth. Like at Baleen, the manager, chef, and chief hostess, greeted me and my group graciously upon arrival. A private seating arrangement was made in the restaurant and the experience was simply amazing. Hollywood has met its match...in steak of course. -L.A.

Provided by CitysearchWe had a great server name Jack- he was pleasent and funny. Our reservations were at 10pm so I really didnt want to eat steak because i know that to digest it was going to be horrible. So i Order their lobster tail-AWSOME- try their great salads and Soups.. Great place to eat but very costly... we spent over $800 for a party of 6... Excellent place to dine.

Provided by CitysearchI don't know where these other reviewers were eating but Capital Grille could HARDLY be considered the best in Miami in the best steak or best dining catagory. I ordered the filet mignon which was over cooked and burnt on places. It was hardly delicious. The presentation on the food was horrible. Considering that my filet was $32 and my 2 lb lobster was $42 you would think that beautiful trays of food would be coming out. But instead the lack luster appearance of the food combined with the so-so steak drained any enthusiasm left for your dining experience. I felt like I was eating at the Sizzler and not a highly recommened steak house.

Provided by CitysearchI am a steak lover and I've been to several steakhouses including Christy's. Captial Grille's meat is like none other, perhaps due to the fact that it is aged meat. I've been there about 5 times and each time the service has been phenomenal. The waiters are courteous and explain the dry aged process to you so you understand what it is your ordering. Nice ambience, not overcrowded- you definitely get your money's worth.
