Absolutely awful..and that's sad to say because honestly, Carolyn does an amazing job but unfortunately, she either needs to step up to the plate of her mistakes or get a secretary to handle her appointment setting. We've had a 5-90 minute massage package since the start of March and here we are in June with hardly anything to show for it. The first massage went well and professionally...the second one, however, my husband came home early stating that it was cut short due to Carolyn stating that her "hand was hurt and couldn't go forward with the remainder of the massage". My husband also mentioned that the massage was great as long as she wasn't too busy texting or facebooking on her phone as she continuously paused multiple times to tend to it. I've tried for MONTHS to set an appointment, let alone just SPEAK TO HER!! I finally caught her at the shop and the first words out of her mouth was, "Do you wanna set an appointment?". At this point, my husband and I were beyond frustrated that we just asked for our refund and even told her she could keep the extra tip we threw in due to her apparent "family emergencies" that she frequently has. She said that she'll refund us but to give her a few days to "come up with the money". SEVERAL days later turned into WEEKS!! She bolts to the back of the shop when I pull in to speak with her and has the ladies from the shop that shares the same spot to handle all her business where I've personally left at least 2-3 written messages for them to forward to her ALONG with my thousands of voicemails. I had called one day posing as a new client where they gave me her "NEW" cell number. Still....after numerous of calls and texts and voicemails, I do NOT get a response or courtesy call....She avoids ALL contact via messages, texts and calls. Everytime we go in, now..all we ever hear is that she's not at the shop. So, from MARCH to JUNE...my husband has only been able to have a 1.5 massage....with 3.5- 90 min remaining on our package. This is truly sad because Carolyn does such an amazing job and carries such a great talent that it's a shame that her poor business qualities have destroyed this for not only us but several other parties, as well. This place needs to be shut down and taken off the market. Do NOT spend your money here...because you won't get it back even if it's rightfully yours!!
What was supposed to be a perfectly relaxing start to my Saturday turned into a stressful, frustrating cluster****.
I purchased a groupon through Amazon Local for a 90-min massage with "Relax by Carolyn" and set the appt 3 weeks in advance. I had been to Carolyn once before, and it was fine, so I went for it. Unfortunately, when I made this appt, I was not notified that she had since relocated about 10 miles farther out of town. So when the day arrived, I went to her previous spa. I was seated for a few mins before they realized what had happened. They gave me her cell number, which I called at that moment and got no answer. I got directions to the new location and jumped in my car to hopefully still make the appt. I tried calling again on the way - still no answer. I get there about 15 mins after the original appt time only to find that she'd just left, having sent me a text one min previous to that telling me that she was putting me down as a "no show." I asked the assistant if there was anything that could be done - if I could wait and have her work me in, as I'd driven a decent distance (20+ miles) to get there, but they declined. I asked if they could call her to catch her, since she'd just left, and let her know I was there, but they declined that idea, as well. So I try calling her again - no answer. I then notice the text she'd just sent, telling me she was leaving. I respond, telling her what happened, and she basically told me "It's okay - I won't penalize you for missing your appt." How kind. When I voiced my disappointment (via text) at the situation, Carolyn told me to contact Amazon about a refund, as she'd rather not deal with me. Wow. Does she treat all of her customers this way in such a situation? Or could it be my groupon that had her viewing me with such disregard?
This person moved her place of business and did not mention this to me at any point, knowing I'd been to her before at the old location. I received no reminder call prior to the appt, which would have been another opportunity for them to mention the relocation. Carolyn does not - EVER - answer her cell phone. Ever. Even to set the appt, I had to contact her assistant via their Facebook page after trying to reach her by phone for days. Perhaps this should have been a warning, as even when I was in her office at the time of the appt, she wouldn't answer her phone. Texts only. She just couldn't be bothered.
Carolyn is appallingly unprofessional, discourteous, and rude. She dropped the ball on the communication front on levels, she bolted only mins after our appt was supposed to start without any phone call to me, and when presented with my disappointment over driving all that way for nothing, she put forth less than zero effort to make things right. This is unfortunate for both of us, as while I lost time and money, she also lost these, as well as a worthwhile customer (I am loyal and tip very well) and potential future customers due to negative word of mouth that this type of unprofessional behavior is bound to inevitably generate. I can only hope that this review might save at least a couple of people down the road the trouble that I've endured in this experience.
AVOID THIS PERSON. However low the cost of the groupon, it isn't worth it.
