A year ago I spent 3 hours trying to do this, I finally made it back to donate and the toothless idiot said I was dehydrated, not the nurse. They put a hold said my veins where bad.
I went a week ago spent 3 hours the manager Sarah had placed a flag on my account took forever to get that off. I filled the bottle in user 40 minutes...Sarah is a liar. Saturday spent another 3 hours and was never seen. People who came in after me were hooked up before me. After waiting an hour on the cot I walked myself up to management, Sarah claimedshe couldn't help that people called in or didn't show up. Sarah lied again, Sarah had just told two people who came in,at 11 to take a two hour lunch because she wasn't paying overtime. This liar has again placed something on my account to prevent me from donating. I'm calling CDC as the morons at corporate will not return calls concerning this. Saturday I did NOT see new needles and tube come out of a package...AIDS and HIV anyone??? God was truly looking after me on last Saturday.
I went at 9:00 in the morning as a new donor. At 11:00, I was still waiting to be seen. Who has four or five hours to do this twice a week? The nurse is grumpy & can barely speak English, there is hardly any staff, & people got tired of waiting & walked out. Which may be my next option!
every four months they have to send your samples of to a mandatory federal teasting. . they lost mine. so I cant dontate anymore.
This place is horrible due to the red tape involved. I am an honest minded individual but this place made me realize that an insignificant detail (me having a non contagious non life threatening respiratory issue) is enough for this place to make you jump through hoops.
I was told by the staff that because i disclosed this RI, i needed to bring my rx with me. I wasn't too happy but did so. I drove all the way back home (20 something miles) to get it, then drove all the way back only to have the same b***h faced nurse tell me that the medication had expired and that i needed a current rx.
I'm like "why didnt you tell me this before?" and she gave me some bs excuse about mentioning that the rx would have to be "current" when i SPECIFICALLY told her my RI was in REMISSION aka I DONT NEED TO TAKE ANY MEDICATION FOR IT RIGHT NOW!!
So after that i left in disgust and drove all the way back home. Do you think they offered to recompense me at all? NOPE.
I drove almost a 100 miles to tell the truth and to basically be put through bs for it...i see now why people lie and i said to myself i will LIE if i ever go to a new plasma center regarding this RI since it isn't on their list of deferred exclusions.
Octapharma is the ONLY PC that made me go through this. I was never told by anyone else that i had to keep my rx on the floor while donating "just in case." smh!
Complete waste of my time! Drove 30 minutes to this place, just to be turned away because I didn't have my social security card. I went home and got my SS card and went back up there. I went through the entire "New Donor" process/interview. 2 1/2 hours of BS for them to tell me that honesty will get me nowhere. I answered the question "Have you ever snorted any drugs?" (Last time was over 10 years ago) truthfully, and was told that I could never donate plasma to this company. I have donated plasma to other places and have NEVER been through this much BS!!
I've donated @ other center's and this one is by far the best! Great/Friendly staff, all but a few are anyway but with any business you have your asses, but its the cleanest center. They just actually care
I am very satisfied with Octapharma!
Like any business, they have good days and not so good days.
Compensation is reasonable ($90 my first week) and most (not all) of the staff are friendly and courteous.
Expect to spend a little more time getting started. Perhaps close to 3 hours or so on your first vist. Things get speedier on subsequent visits.
Call them first to ensure you have everything you need before you go.
The time of day may be a factor as well. It stands to reason that when there are a lot of donors, it will take their staff a little longer to get everyone through.
Bottom line, don't get angry if your first few donations take longer than expected.
Safety precautions take time. Thorough initial screenings are for your safety and the safety of plasma recipients.
Eat healthy, stay hydrated, bring a good attitude, and you'll have a great experience.
great place to donate, a utter pleasure. staff is friendly and joney on the spot so to speak. the rates are friendly and i was in and out, but i did have the correct documentation needed . i will continue to go back and save lives........as i earn some cash
I've been going here for about a year and have never had a problem.
Don't bother with this donation center. They do everything they can to refuse you as a new donor. They will make you wait for 4-5 HOURS on your first visit and half the time they will come back and say that you didn't provide the right I.D. and make you come back later. On top of their laziness and rudeness, they pay some of the lowest rates for your plasma that I've ever seen and their technicians are overworked and prone to mistakes. They blew out the veins in both my arms! Go anywhere else but this awful place!
