Mission Hills caters to great golfers. You need golf experience to navigate through this tough little Country Club and you will be required to keep pace with the Club's 4 1/2 hour requirements. Book it if you dare? In the book "The Golf Course" the United States Golf Association tracks the design history of nearly 16,000 golf courses around the world. The three listings for Mission Hills Country Club indicate a rich history dating from the original design by Leonard Macomber, a civil engineer turned golf course architect. Macomber designed eighteen courses from New York to Wisconsin, including two in Northbrook, Illinois. Breakers Beach Golf Course no longer exists, and Mission Hills, originally designed in 1926, has only one original hole (No. 12) still remaining. The late Charles Dudley Wagstaff, usually listed as "C.D." designed and remodeled many mid-western courses from his Glenview, Illinois offices during his brilliant 46-year career. Wagstaff, who added 9 holes to Macomber's original 18, also made his mark with Twin Orchards in Long Grove and the famed Tam O' Shanter in Niles. Edward Lawrence Packard and son, Roger Packard, designed the current eighteen holes at MHCC. Together and separately, they designed hundreds of golf courses in the US. Locally, their premier designs include resort courses at Eagle Ridge in Galena, Cantigny in Wheaton and Eagle Golf's own Eaglebrook in Geneva Illinois. Mission Hills Country Club as it appears today, is the result of a complete redesign by the Packard team in 1975. Enjoy your round at this historic track!

Mission Hills Country Club maintains golf, tennis and croquet facilities. It operates a more than 17,000-square-foot spa and sports center that features fitness equipment, group exercise and kinesis classes, as well as a full-service spa and salon that offers massage, facials and body treatments. The club also has an over is 6,834 yard championship golf course and generous practice facilities, including a nearly 15 acre dual-sided driving range. Mission Hills Country Club maintains a 55,000 square foot clubhouse that hosts various private functions, such as rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, golf outings, luncheons, corporate meetings and receptions, and school, civic, charity and fundraising events. It features several dining rooms that can accommodate approximately 350 people.
