Autumn's Special Treat

While walking around the Hemmingway's Museum on Oaktoberfest, I found Hemmingway's Bistro across Oak Park Avenue. Hemingway's Days re foodminded me about good food in the afternoon. Hemmingway's Bistro has a Special Maine Lobster Salad served with Mango Vinaigrette, Salad Greens, Citrus and Raspberries during the Autumn Harvest Feast. I was really impressed by the large Maine Lobster succulent portions, sweet and tender to the palate. Great choice for Brunch!

A French sounding name doesn't make it good

It's been a while, but when I went there last year for lunch my partner's sandwich was served with a long hair across it. The waitress didn't seem very upset.

The food was average, but more like Applebee's instead of an authentic French bistro.

Nice place to hang around

I've been to Hemmingway's Bistro the other day and I really can say that it's a good place to spend some time. Nice mood and good food is the least I can say. You really should be there at least once in your life.

I have been to Hemmingway's Bistro in Oak Park, IL, several times and the professionalism of the staff compliments the Owner's and the Hotel it is associated with. The food, my goodness, is delicious. Chef Ala and his wife, Lucia, personally greet each customer to see if their experience at Hemmingway's Bistro is what has been expected of a French Bistro. I believe the wine selection is excellent. This is a French Bistro, which accents French cuisine. Go to Hemmingway's Bistro, you will not regret it! Sunday Champagne Brunches are tasty and time flys by so quickly - - you will not find any cold bagels served at this Bistro!

I found the ambiance to be romantic, the drinks, especially the martinis, were in nice tall glasses and the food to be downtown gourmet-style with great flavor, yet inexpensive. Will definitely go back!

needs much improvement

Went for Sunday brunch buffet. Very small buffet table and live jazz was 2 guys pathetically placed in a dark, hidden corner by the buffet. Buffet had: refrigerator-cold bagels and croissants, one plate of shrimp/ oysters/ crab claws, a dry crumb cake. Poor quality food and dirty dishes.
Choose off menu for main 'entree,' took FOREVER. Ordered French toast, waffle, and roast du jour. Nothing special, roast was so tough that my mom didn't even touch it. She likened it to shoe leather.
Ordered waffle for my 3 year-old, an expensive waffle since children's rate is $12.95. He didn't touch the buffet, of course. They served him HALF the waffle and charged me $11 anyway. Drinks are at extra charge.
Basically, worst value for the money. $100 plus tip for a horrible brunch for 3 adults and a baby?! What a joke.

The Sunday brunch was fantastic! Champagne, unlimited buffet with seafood, cheese, assortment of bread, bagels and of course the chocalate mousse desert was heavenly. Not to mention the entree course of London broil!!!
