Service was great, very attentive, but the sushi was three stars and overpriced. I liked Pangaea Bier Cafe better, which is close by.

Terrible service

Kru has amazing sushi - it's a shame their service is so terrible. I wish the managers would listen to the complaints and make some changes, but I guess as long as they're getting business they're not worried about returning customers. The other problem is the lack of a full bar - seems odd for an establishment on J street.

Kru is derived from the French word "Cru" meaning raw, uncooked and unpasteurized. Established in 2005, Kru Restaurant provides innovative cuisine that is a fusion of Asian, European, and American ingredients and cooking techniques with a heavy influence of Japanese sushi and traditions. We pride ourselves in our mission to provide fresh, seasonal, flavorful food of the highest quality, beautifully prepared and presented.
