Over all there food is good . its about the same you find at any other chinese food place just doesnt taste as premade. Its better to dine in here then to get delivery.. Even living right across the street it takes over and hr to deliver and a $20 minimum which doesnt include food tax or delivery fees. So look yo spend atleast $24 for a single meal when ordering delivery. Waitors are usually pretty nice. Management seems stiff ... And usually not enough parking for dine ins... I rather play pokemon go here

I've been looking for Honey Walnut Shrimp in San Antonio ever since Buffet King Chinese closed a couple of years ago. Although Golden Wok does not have Honey Walnut Shrimp, they do have an excellent Walnut Shrimp, and I often go there to enjoy it. I have never been even slightly disappointed, either with the food or the service.

I was very excited to try the food at the Golden Wok after reading the reviews, but was quickly disappointed after first tasting the Won Ton soup, which was flavorless.
I ordered Orange beef, extra spicey, which had no heat what so ever. It tasted like unseasoned beef in an odd tasting ketchup. My friend's daughter ordered sweet and sour pork, which was significantly over salted,
The dim sum was however very good, along with the pot stickers. This part of the meal was great.
The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. She removed the offending orange beef off of the bill and was willing to try to make the meal a sucess.
I would recommend sticking with the appetizers and dim sum and not ordering an entree.
I've eaten at this location many times, dine-in and takeout, and I am always amazed by the consistancy of the cooking. Very flavorful and delicous is the only way to discribe Golden Wok. The delivery man even shows up at your door nicely dressed. Good job and keep it up!

I've been going to this place for probably over 10 years- delicious! Was a little hurt years ago when they had a menu change because a few of my favorite dishes were put to rest :( But the real reason I go back?? Their Hot and Sour soup is THE best I've ever had!! Don't know whats in there, but its completely different from anywhere else. Great! I'm salivating on my keyboard.

I love dim sum on the weekends, they have a great selection and all of it is very fresh and delicious (from what I was brave enough to try... no chicken feet or tripe for me!) Very busy on Sunday afternoon so get there early or go on Saturday. I have been on the weekdays for lunch and like the lunch specials and have always gotten good and prompt service even when they were very busy I never had to wait too long (10-15 min) for a table. They have a limited selection of dim sum during dinner if you can't make it on the weekend mornings.

There are very few places in San Antonio that serves Dim Sum and Golden Wok is one. I like that the food is serve steaming hot and fresh but it is very westernize. If you go at happy hour the selection is limited, you have to sit at the bar and order drinks. Service even at non-rush hours is very slow. The waitresses seem more interested in filling the sugar containers then taking your order or serving you tea. If you are going to eat here expect it to be a leisurely meal not fast and timely.

In Asian cuisine, this place is a safe bet. The food is good - a little too americanised but definitely nice. They have options in Chinese, Thai and pan Asian.
The place is kinda nice - good open seating, large TV, a good bar and a do-your-own meal kind of thing. The prices are higher. Service could be improved. they took me a while to sit and the guy waiting my table was unhappy when I complained about a greasy plate.

The Dim Sum on Sundays is the only reason I go here. It is VERY GOOD - close to being home made.
THough it is not on par to resturants in China Town in NYC, Toranto Canada, Seattle or Washington DC.
The service is the only reason we do not visit as often. It can be very good to very bad.
Really sad, since it has a great look and feel to the place.
Even with spotty service, we have continued to go here the past 5-years.
Since the start of 2007, they have hired new managment and waiters and it seems to be better - for now.
I would recommend this resturant to my friends and family.
If the service was more consistant, their rating would be higher.

I go there very often and am always pleased with the food, wait staff and overall dining experience.
The food is always hot, the dim sum is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed. Start off with hot tea from the variety offered, have dim sum and my personal entree recommendation is the Chow Fun. I have never gotten bad food or poor service at this establishment.

Normally great food and so so service but notice a definite decline in customer service. Last visit took 2.5 hrs. Went at lunch, weekday, seated shortly and ignored by our waitress for 40 minutes who then brought tea but no cups and dirty plates. She seemed to have personal issues and we had to beg another waiter to take our order after walking our dim sum order to the kitchen ourself. We tried to order and she would walk away midsentence and it seemed she did not want to particulary wait on us,although she waited on, served, 3 tables after we were seated who all left before we were served. We waited a long time for the manager to come over, was saved by another gracious waiter who took our orders, and the manager said ""sorry"" and kept pouring tea for us and didn't seem to listen understand that we felt unwelcome and his employees rudeness shook our kids up who were with us. This employee made it very hard to do business with them as she wouldn't take our order, and represented the place in a very bad light and in front of our children. The manager did not care that we were so patient and nice about things. We like good chinese and half the people at the table that day were asian. Judging by her looks toward us and attitude she brought some personal issues and took them out on us. We have been going there for years and won't be going back. Stay far, far away from this place. After we left, we joked that maybe this employee is a family member they have to put up with. Maybe they do,but not this paying customer.
