This hotel is located in the Downtown district of San Diego on the corner of Columbia and Grape street next to "Little Italy". We are a limited service hotel. This hotel has an older look to it as the building itself was built in 1901 however it has been renovated, the rooms are updated and cozy as the bulding offers 42 rooms. We have Singles, Double and Suites. This hotel is undergoing a complete management change. Really great location and nice staff, very accommodating and nice place to stay by the harbor and little Italy. close to restaurants and airport. very convenient to stay at when you want a quick weekend close to everything.

I needed to find a hotel that would enable me to be downtown, conduct video conferencing meetings yet not break the bank. After reading some reviews and speaking with the pleasant hotel staff I chose Harborview. I will choose Harborview next time based on what I experienced during my stay. Centrally located walking distance to Little Italy I was able to work, play and have a little money left over afterwards. Thanks Harborview!

I am visiting San Diego for personal business since the end of November 2015 and is staying at here with my daughter. Business is taking longer that I plan due to unforseen reasons and the owner, Ms. Lela is willing to go the extra mile to make our visit as comfortable as possible and she has a heart of Gold. This hotel is the only one in town with free parking. There is an excellent view of the harbor, and one can walk a short distance to many bars and restaurants. We booked our reservation through Hotwire and they lied and told us there was self-service laundry here...upon telling us that there were not, and had never been any laundry machines here, the gracious front desk clerk gave us directions to the nearest coin-operated laundromat and a free box of detergent from her PERSONAL supply! That is why this four-star hotel got five stars from this reviewer. Thank you, front desk lady!

I am writing to request a refund for the nights we were charged for, but did not stay, at the Harbor View Inn and Suites in San Diego, CA. We made the reservation through an online hotel booking agency. At the time we made the reservation over the phone, I specifically asked if there was “on site free parking.” The booking representative said, “yes.” The room was to be an “upgrade” from the room originally reserved at another hotel because of an error in the booking. The first hotel was overbooked and there was no room when we arrived. It had a swimming pool and was a much nicer hotel. We would never have been at the Harbor View if it weren’t for the error. The first room was a 3 star, the Harbor View was 2 ½ stars. It may have been more expensive, but the room was NOT an upgrade as we had been promised.
We checked into the Harbor View Inn and Suites on July 27, 2011 at approximately 11:00 pm and checked out on July 28, 2011 at approximately 10 am. At the time of check-in we found there was no parking in the guest parking lot which provided fewer parking spaces than the number of hotel rooms. We were instructed by a hotel employee to park and unload our luggage on a very busy street about a block from the hotel. We discovered the next morning the parking space was a “no overnight parking spot.” The rental car we were driving had a large ding in the front driver’s door that wasn’t there the night before. The hotel parking lot was still full at the time we left the hotel.
We consider the lack of free on-site parking to be a breach of Hotelscom contract with us. Additionally, the hotel was not an upgrade as promised, did not provide advertised amenities, had a infestation of bugs and a bad smell.
We notified the hotel manager, the online hotel booking agency and our credit card company that we were checking out of the hotel early due to the misrepresentations and that we were requesting a refund. The hotel manager would not agree to the refund for the additional nights and she would not issue a receipt of any kind. The manager was very rude to us.
I have contacted two attorneys who have recommended we sue in small claims court if the dispute is not resolved otherwise. I also intend to contact the Better Business Bureau.

Very pleasant hotel especially for the money. Excellent location, close to airport and car rental businesses. Very clean, new paint. Had a refrigerator, microwave, and cable television.

Price was very reasonable. Free parking. Clean. Felt safe. Owner very accommodating and extremely helpful. Rooms we stayed in were fairly large with microwave and small refrig. Another plus for us, they accepted pets at a reasonable fee.

This hotel is in a great location

This hotel is in a great location. It's in the heart of Little Italy so there are lots of places to eat and there are a few good bars. There's a really great farmers market nearby every Saturday. Its a few blocks from the airport and walking distance to the bay. The gaslamp quarter is just a $5 cab ride away. We were looking for a hotel that was decent for a smart price., that had free parking, free wireless internet, and continental breakfast and that is exactly what we got.

Very clean and unexpectedly quiet considering proximity to traffic. Great handicap accessible restrooms. I' will recommend and stay again when traveling in the area. Small fridge and microwave added to comfort. As did the large TV.

Loved the location

We stayed at the hotel twice in a month's time with friends. Loved the location, just 2 blocks from San Diego's Little Italy and some of the best eating in southern California, and very close to the airport, Maritime Museum, and trolley.
