Order 2 days in advance for Cinco De Mayo dinner. They had limited menu, Had pick up at 5:30. via curbside pickup. When I arrived at 5:25 there were 75 cars waiting in line and about 50 people in the parking lot gathered around the pick up booth. Waited 25 minutes and had moved two cars up. Called but no one picked up phone . I finally left as did many other frustrated customers.
Never go back to this place!!!!!
This is NOT the best mexican food in town. Most likely we will not be returning. The chips and salsa is filling enough, thank you for that! But the over all for quality wasn't the best. I was disappointed. A Taco Salad for $11+ isn't worth my time in that dark restaurant where the servers rush you to order.

Provided by CitysearchThe food here is great. The drinks are good too. Nice place for good Mexican food in a dimly lit restaurant with great atmosphere. I love this place. Only downside, sometimes there is a wait, but it is well worth it.

Provided by CitysearchTotally enjoyed the food, the ambiance and the food! The renovations on the entrance were an awesome welcome.
I do however miss the expensive margarita - What happened? Always enjoyed telling my friends about your nearly 20 dollar margarita. I feel like this was one of the things that set Casa Vega apart from the gazillion other Mexican restaurants in LA.
With that said, I will still come back. And I highly recommend your good eats as the best Mexican on Ventura Blvd!

Provided by CitysearchWonderful food, wonderful service, but I feel so darn guilty because I truly hurt my wallet, I murdered it ..and before I trashed it, it called my bank account for help, and I murdered that one too!

Provided by CitysearchMy first impression of this place was a very very good impression indeed. There is nothing negative I can say about this place.

Provided by CitysearchThis place is perfect for dates due to the dimly lit ambiance which, surprisingly wasn't so bad.

Provided by CitysearchI love going to Casa Vega for lunch or dinner. I have been a fan for many years and always think of Casa Vega first when I think of Mexican restaurants, Sometimes it takes time to get seated when they are busy, but you can either wait at the bar and have a drink or sit outside in the newly done waiting area. The food is not the best Mexican food I have ever had, but it is much better than any other fast food place. My favorite in the carne asada green burrito dinner. It comes with a delicious tostada salad. Casa Vega is a really nice place to go .

Provided by Citysearch""A staple in the valley, I was really excited to try it. Unfortunately it came up short. I base this review solely on service and food.
I would give this place for 4 stars for ambiance alone. This place has definitely got that mexican feel to it.""

Provided by CitysearchI received the chips and salsa (which was pretty good) and water pretty quickly and then my waiter came to take my order. The drinks are pretty good (they dont skip on the liquor), so no complaints there. I ordered the sonora tacos and the salad. First the salad came out and it was pretty good, it basically a salad on top of a tostado shell, but it was tasty.

Provided by Citysearch""Pricing is on the high side here, but the food is soooo good! As a fan of Jeff Lewis, we had to go check it out since we were passing through town. We arrived before the dinner rush and didn't want to pay for valet parking, so we parked along the adjacent street where there was plenty of on-street parking.
We were placed in a corner booth facing out, and were seated immediately. The ambiance is very dark at Casa Vega, which I found odd since the decor is also pretty dark. Just makes for a really dark experience! Anyhow, we ordered the vegetarian Mexican pizza and a mango margarita, and split both. I've had a LOT of Mexican pizzas, and can honestly say that this was among the best! The soy sausage product they used tasted so good!
We probably wouldn't return for a full meal just because it's a bit pricey, and if I'm going to spend $50 for two of us, I'd rather opt for Asian food of some sort. However, we would definitely return again (if we were passing through again) to order something minimal. It's just worth checking out the door that Jeff brought in, and snapping a photo of the remodeled foyer, while appreciating the old Hollywood feel of the place. Nice time!""

Provided by CitysearchWas there early to get a good seat at the bar for the 1st game of the NBA Finals. Friendly people all over the place, everyone is mingling and having a great time... No one seemed to have attitude and groups overlap in conversation. All sorts of characters from musicians to models types to old movie producers were hanging around having some drunk fun.

Provided by CitysearchI'd be found there 5 days a week. Great food, awesome drinks, and best night out of the week is like Sunday's... It's always packed, and food is always served..

Provided by CitysearchIts one of those places that can floor you with the chips and salsa before the main course even arrives!
